This page has been created in the light of recently finding a lot more "American cousins" that we were not aware of before.......I was contacted by Steve Keogh from Nashville saying that he “thought we were related when he found my web site on the Internet and read some of the family history” ..... and he was right!
My great grand father Bernard Joseph Keogh of Grenfell Street Widnes, who we "discovered" recently (being buried in Widnes Cemetery with my sister Ann Monica and my Keogh grandparents) is also his great grandfather !!!
And so the story of our extended American family starts here and will take some unravelling as it is a very big family. This page will grow as we put together the story of the Keogh great uncle, uncle and aunty who went to America from Grenfell Street - the place of my birth.
The American cousins above are all descended from Thomas Edward Keogh (who emigrated to the USA in 1914 with his wife Catherine Winifred Byrne and 5 month old daughter Mona), Bernard Joseph (my dad's brother) and Kitty (Keogh-Gilmore - my dad's sister), who emigrated in 1929 and all of them settled in Nashville, Tennessee
Gerry Keogh (centre of the picture above) is the only surviving child of Thomas and Catherine while Bernard's five daughters and Kitty's 3 children’s families grow ever bigger with the passing of time - the Keogh family traditions live on in America also............
