Family Birthdays

As this web site was my 60th birthday present the first special birthday has got to be mine........ My 60th birthday was Christmas Day 2005... I had just retired from Croda after almost 45 years service and spent my birthday in a hytte in Gullingen, Norway with all my family...

Irene and I, Claire and Paul and Laura travelled to Stavanger then up to Keogh-Haarde hytte in Gullingen, Suldal for Christmas and New Year 2005. We celebrated my birthday there and were joined by Danny on Boxing Day. New Year was also celebrated in the mountain retreat with many Norwegian friends and was a memorable time for all. My presents were also memorable including a very special present from Irene - my own Star in the Capricorn Constellation named “The Bernard Keogh 60th Birthday Star” - How cool is that!!

Kevin, Monica and Arne visited Widnes in October 2007 so we took the opportunity to hold an “early” first Birthday Party for our two beautiful grandchildren.

As a special summer trip to celebrate her 60th birthday Irene decided that her birthday present should be a trip to Canada, see Kevin and family, train through The Rockies and an Alaskan cruise to the Glacier fields.... And we fitted it all in to a month away which was quite special for us both and a great way to visit Kevin and family on their first year in Calgary.

Irene and I travelled to London where Laura was in her first degree year at Kings College based at Guys Hospital near London Bridge. By coincidence that year it happened to be Chinese New Year on her birthday so we managed to get into Chinatown and eat her birthday meal while enjoying the Chinese celebrations as well.
